If you went to the Olympics in 2012… you might know where it is, it is Stratford Station.

So what does “Para” mean in “Paralympics”? The present formal explanation for the name “Paralympic” is that it derives from the Greek preposition παρά, (“beside” or “alongside”) and thus refers to a competition held in parallel with the Olympic Games.

The Summer Games of 1988 held in Seoul was the first time the term “Paralympic” came into official use.

I went to the Olympics 4 times, archery, wheelchair basketball, equestrian and the swimming … it got better every time.
